This is a seasonally-inspired series co-taught with Stephanie McClenny, founder of Austin’s acclaimed small-batch, artisan preserves company, Confituras.
In these fun, interactive classes you will learn not only the fundamentals of safe canning, but also the principles of balancing flavor and sweetness in the making of preserves. We always work with seasonal fruit, so classes highlight the variety of Texas fruits we see throughout the year. Every participant takes home a jar of preserves and light refreshments are served.
This class is geared toward beginners as we will be going over the basics of canning and flavor combinations. Stay tuned for intermediate and advanced classes in the near future.
Class fee: $60/person
